Hi! My name is Sheila and welcome to my page. On April 18, 2011, I turn 29. Yup, 29 years old. That's one year before I turn 30. What will also make this day special is that I plan on starting my own Project 365. Everyday for one year, I will be taking photos to document this time of my life.
Hi everyone!
Since completing Project 365, I have only taken a few photos. Let me tell you, it feels kind of strange (and liberating!) to not have to take pictures and upload them everyday! Anyway, I want to share something pretty neat. Remember Day 352? To be honest, the real reason behind this photo shoot is because my brother needed pictures for an article he had to write. This afternoon, that article went live online (click here to check it out!) and printed copies will be available in Running Room stores across Canada on April 30! My brother and I have published pieces! Woo-hoo!
Again, thanks for following and see you soon!

Day 365: Until next time …
“Shadows in light and shade, seeing all things common and obscure, I click.” (Linda McCartney)
For the past few weeks, I have been thinking about this day. Throughout the year, I experienced many moments where I wasn’t sure if I would make it. I didn’t realize how much effort and time was required to complete this project. On some days, I would take dozens of photos (Days 48, 105) and others where I only took a few (Days 185, 229). In addition, I had many doubts about my skills in photography. Was I good enough? Am I creative?
Project 365 was initially a way for me to document my 29th year of life. If I may be truthful, I wanted to see if turning 30 would make me go crazy (Day 26). What I found surprising, however, is how creative this endeavor turned out to be. In fact, a good friend of mine invited me to be part of an art show she organized (Day 300).
Despite owning my DSLR for over two years and doing Project 365, I still do not consider myself a photographer, much less an artist. Other than taking an intro to photography course at a local school, I do not have any formal training. For me, my camera has and is a way for me to show people how I see the world.
Photography has helped me feel more centre and forces me to concentrate and think in an imaginative way (Days 9, 39, 131). Because of this, I find myself “framing” moments as life continues on (Day 290). As well, it has taught me that practice does not make perfect - it only encourages growth and betterment. In fact, some “mistakes” have made for some interesting captures (Days 154, 265). Moreover, I find myself looking through different books and websites looking for inspiration and new techniques to try (Days 225, 336).
To those of you who have followed my journey, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! I humbly appreciate all of your encouragement, critiques, likes, and reblogs. For now, a second Project 365 is not in the cards, but I can assure you that this is not the end. In the near future, I will announce when my Project 52 (posting a photo once a week instead of daily) will begin. Until then, see you soon!

Day 360: Glasses
Optimists say that the glass is half full. Pessimists say that it is half empty. While they were arguing, the opportunist drank the water and now the glasses and drying by the sink.

Day 359: Swing
One of the best parts of a playground, in my humble opinion, is the swings. I always wanted to touch the sky. Perhaps someday, I will.
